The San Mateo Colleges of Silicon Valley (SMCSV), operated by the San Mateo County Community College District, are a group of three highly regarded and fully accredited two-year community colleges in California’s Silicon Valley and Bay Area.
The collective includes Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College. In 2020, they received the nation's highest honor given by the government - the JFK Presidential Award of Excellence in Export.
With particular strength in STEM subjects, taught by experienced industry-leading professionals, students at SMCSV enjoy greatly enhanced admission success among top colleges in the San Francisco Bay Area. SMCSV are the preferred transfer pathway colleges for UC Berkeley, and honors students enjoy priority admission status with an acceptance rate of up to 70 percent from UCLA.
San Mateo Colleges of Silicon Valley specialize in University Transfer Admissions with course articulation and guaranteed transfer admission to more than 150 notable public and private universities throughout the US and the globe.
They are known for their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) programs and student services, including their own Silicon Valley Intensive English Program (SVIEP) and Homestay Referral Program.
Also available to international students are scholarships and multiple internship opportunities (CPT, OPT) at world-class companies like Caltech, YouTube, Google, Apple, Salesforce, Twitter, and Facebook.
